How did I get here?

When sewing takes over

In winter of 2024 through some happenings still unknown to me, I figured it was both a sensible and reasonably good idea to cycle the length of the United Kingdom with a sewing machine. Despite the undertaking being an immensely bigger challenge than expected, the concept of cycling and sewing worked. I produced bikepacking bags for people all across the UK, threading together a shared love of adventure and creative journeys.

Life after the Trip

To think that the sewing journey would end when I reached John O’Groats was an enormous oversight. The orders kept on coming. And the requests became more elaborate. Full-suspension bikes, upcycling jackets, using off cuts. That’s when a theme began to emerge. People cared about the story.

“Where do you get your fabric from”

A recurring question throughout the trip. Up until that point it had been an authentic moment of a maker on wheels. But that falls down when you’re ordering fabric made of fossil fuels, dug up from the earth, forged using witchcraft and shuttled across the globe in a gas guzzling shipping container.

With more and more requests for off cut bags, natural dyes, upcycled materials, it became apparent I could offer something the big brands don’t.
